Still, Have to Work Outside the Home When the Pandemic COVID-19? Apply this to avoid contracting

Concerns about contracting COVID-19 might envelop workers who until now still have to move outside the home. To stay safe outside the home or office, apply COVID-19 prevention measures that are true and effective.
To stop the spread of the Coronavirus, the government is calling on people to implement physical distancing and carry out activities from home, including working. However, not a few people who still have to work outside the home, either because of the demands of the profession or the economic needs of the family.

Ways to Prevent COVID-19 for People Working Outside the Home
The Indonesian Ministry of Health urges workers who still need to be active outside the home to be vigilant and implement COVID-19 preventive measures.

The following are the things you need to do when working outside the home so you don't get infected with Coronavirus;

1. Always wear a mask
Always wear a mask when in public places, including on the way to work or go home, and while at work.

You simply use a cloth mask for daily activities outside the home. Choose a mask that is the right size for your face, and can cover your mouth, nose, and chin perfectly.

2. Avoid touching objects in public places
As much as possible avoid touching objects that are touched by many people, such as elevator buttons, door handles, or fingerprint machines.

To work around this, you can use your elbows or pens when you press the elevator button. You can also open the door using your elbows or shoulders, not by hand.

Also, be diligent at cleaning work desks and office equipment that you often use, such as keyboards, mice, and mobile phones, using disinfectant fluids.

3. Maintain good personal hygiene
Always carry a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, so you can use it to clean your hands on the way if there is no means to wash hands. Arriving at the office, wash your hands with running water and soap.

During work, wash your hands or use a hand sanitizer as often as possible, at least every 4 hours. Do not forget to wash your hands after touching office equipment that is often used together, such as a photocopier.

4. Keep your distance from coworkers
Make sure you apply physical distancing, i.e. keep your distance from other people as far as 1-2 meters, both in travel and at work. This needs to be done to prevent you from inhaling other people's saliva sparks when they talk, cough, or sneeze.

5. Use private vehicles whenever possible
During the COVID-19 pandemic, use private vehicles as much as possible and avoid traveling by commuter lines, busways, or other public transportation that is crowded with passengers. Being in a crowd can increase your risk of contracting the Coronavirus.

If you have to take public transportation, protect yourself by wearing a cloth mask, and keep your distance from others. Use a hand sanitizer to clean your hands after touching objects on public transport and do not touch your face before your hands are cleaned.

Arriving at home, immediately take off the clothes that you wear and put them in the dirty clothes. After that, immediately take a shower and wear clean clothes. Make sure you don't touch the people at home before you take a shower and change clothes.

Wash clothes and cloth masks using detergent. If deemed necessary, you can also clean bags, shoes, or mobile phones with disinfectant.

The important thing that you should also not forget is to keep your immune system fit by eating nutritious food, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and avoiding stress.

Even though you still have to work outside the home during this pandemic, you can still protect yourself from the Coronavirus. Apply the steps above so that you do not catch the virus or transmit it to others. That way, the spread of COVID-19 can be stopped.
