The Dutch controlled this island since 1677. The Philippines since 1891 incorporated Miangas into its territory. Miangas is known by the name La Palmas on a map of the Philippines.
The Netherlands then reacted by bringing the Miangas issue to the International Arbitration Court. The International Arbitration Court with judge Max Huber on 4 April 1928 ruled that Miangas legitimately belonged to the present Dutch (Indies).
1949 - Signing of the Nato Agreement
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an international organization for mutual security that was founded in 1949. The establishment of NATO as a form of support for the North Atlantic agreement was signed in Washington DC on April 4, 1949.
The main article of the agreement was Article V which contained: Members agreed that an armed attack on one or more of them in Europe and in North America would be considered an attack on all members.
Furthermore, they agreed that if such an armed attack took place, each member would exercise the right to defend themselves personally or together as stated in Article 51 of the UN Charter
The article explained helping members who were attacked if the use of such forces, both alone and together, was felt necessary, including the use of armed forces, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic region.

The Indonesian Council of Indonesian Muslim Association (Council of Indonesian Muslim Associations) or abbreviated as Masyumi was the largest Islamic political party in Indonesia during the era of liberal democracy. This party was banned in 1960 by President Sukarno for allegedly supporting the PRRI rebellion.
Not long after the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia on November 7, 1945, a new organization called Masyumi was formed. In less than a year, this party became the largest political party and was in government.
In 1952, when Wilopo from the Indonesian National Party (PNI) became prime minister and Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX served as defense minister.
1968 - Human rights activist Martin Luther King Killed Jr. Was killed
Martin Luther King Jr. is a Baptist minister and human rights activist from the United States who was the spokesperson and leader of the civil rights movement from 1954 to 1968.
He is known for demanding civil rights by means of non-violence and civil disobedience in accordance with Christian teachings and inspired by the peaceful activism of Mahatma Gandhi.
On October 14, 1964, King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his service against racial inequality through peaceful resistance. In 1965 he participated in leading the Selma Parade to Montgomery.
The following year, King and SCLC brought this movement to Chicago to highlight the issue of housing segregation. Towards the end of his life, he began to highlight poverty and the Vietnam war.
In 1968, King planned a people's occupation in Washington DC under the title Poor People's Campaign, but he was killed by James Earl Ray on April 4 in Memphis, Tennessee.
