27 February Incident: Death of Typist of the Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia Sayuti Melik
A number of important and historic events took place on 27 February. Starting from the discovery of the island of New Britain until the death of Sayuti Melik, typist of the RI proclamation.
1700 - New British Island Found
The Province of West New Britain is a province in Papua New Guinea, with Kimbe as the capital. The province has an area of 20,387 km², with 264,264 inhabitants, from the 2011 census. There are seven major tribes on the island of New Britain, namely Nakanai, Bakovi, Kove, Unea, Maleu, Kaulong, and Crowe. The entire tribe accounts for a total of 25 languages.

The Labor Party or Labor Party is a political party in the United Kingdom that has a middle-left ideology, described as an alliance of social democrats, socialist democrats, and trade unions. This party platform emphasizes greater state intervention, social justice, and strengthening workers' rights.
The party was founded in 1990, after growing out of the 19th-century trade union movement and socialist party. The Labor Party overtook the Liberal Party as the main opposition of the Conservative Party in the early 1920s, forming two minority governments under Ramsay Macdonald in 1920.
2004 - National Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) Disbanded Megawati
IBRA is an institution formed by the government based on Presidential Decree Number 27 of 1998 concerning the Establishment of IBRA. This institution was formed with the main task of restructuring banks, settling problem assets and seeking to recover state funds channeled to the banking sector.
Because its performance was considered unsatisfactory, during the reign of President Megawati Soekarnoputri, this institution was dissolved based on Keppres No. 15 of 2004 concerning Termination of Tasks and Disbanding of IBRA.
1870 - Japanese flag
The Japanese flag is a flag with a red circle in the middle of a white field. This flag is officially called the Nisshōki (sun symbol flag) in Japanese but is commonly known as the Hinomaru (sun circle).
The Nisshōki flag was designated as a national flag according to the National Flag and National Anthem Rules, which were announced and took effect on Friday, August 13, 1999. Although in the past there were no laws regarding national flags, the sun circle flag has become Japan's national flag de facto
Two proclamations were issued in 1870 by Daijō-kan, the governing body in the early Meiji Period, each of which had provisions regarding the design of the national flag. The sun circle flag is used as the national flag for merchant ships according to Proclamation No. 57 years 3 Meiji (issued on 27 February 1870), and as a national flag used by the Navy according to Proclamation No. 651 years 3 Meiji (issued on 27 October 1870).
1964 - Italian government asks for help so that the tower of Pisa does not fall
The Pisa Tower was actually made to stand vertically like a bell tower in general but began to tilt shortly after construction began in August 1173.
The height of this tower is 55.86 m from the lowest ground level and 56.70 m from the highest ground level. The width of the wall below reaches 4.09 m and the peak is 2.48 m. Its weight is estimated at 14,500 tons. The Tower of Pisa has 294 steps. With the existence of this tower, the economic income sector will increase because of the attractions.
1989 - Death of Typist of the Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia Sayuti Melik
Mohamad Ibnu Sayuti or better known as Sayuti Melik was born in Sleman, Yogyakarta November 22, 1908. Sayuti died in Jakarta on February 27, 1989, at the age of 80 years.
Sayuti is recorded in the history of Indonesia as a typist of the Indonesian independence proclamation text. She is the husband of Soerastri Karma Trimurti, a female journalist and activist in the era of the movement and the era after independence.
